Last Day of 2013

It's the last day of the year. Mummy me actually woke up earlier than the kids. Got up abt 8.50am today n kids were still asleep! Oh dear... Another 2 more days and school reopens. How to wake up for morning class?!?!

Brandon comfortably sat on his rocking chair n even placed a box to rest his feet! Alicia was also happily sitting on her chair, refusing to let anyone sit on it.

The boys attended the 1st Berries lesson this afternoon. If not for that, I'll b shopping in town with small Yi n all.

After class, Brandon feedback that his lesson was quite difficult. He had problems completing the assignment. Caden on the other hand said confidently that his was easy! I think I seriously need to sit down with Brandon to go through reading his books slowly.

Since they were good boys, I acceded to their request to play at the playground at J8. We then went to NTUC to get some groceries n also bought cupcakes fr 12 Cupcakes.

Trained home as it was a long q at the taxi stand.

We all had dinner at home together at 7pm. Longan n the cupcakes were dessert. The kids washed up and went to bed abt 10pm. Although they did ask, but no.. I won't let them stay up so late for countdown. They admitted they were tired and wanted to go to bed anyway.

Labour day

Mummy woke up at 6am to prepare pasta for Daddy to bring to the ofc for a pot-luck lunch. Went back to bed again at 8am. Tot I cld sleep in later but was disturbed by the kids at 9am.

Oh well.. Once up, it was labour work again. Set up the new entertainment system in the dining, fixed Alicia's new study chair, fixed Brandon's mini-rocking chair, printed few photos for the new frames and prepared Alicia & Brandon's pencil case for the new school term.

After dinner, I went to NEX to order the canvas print for our family portrait. Daddy came to fetch me after his work. The kds were very good - they were washed up n ready to go to bed by the time I reached home. Good job!!

Brunch n shopping

After a day's off yesterday, Mummy woke up abt 9.30am today, together with Daddy. Made the kids all wash up before we went for brunch at Toast Box.

We did some grocery shopping at NTUC before heading to Ikea for shopping.

The crowd at Ikea was "horrijible". They were giving away free candy floss n popcorn. The kids queued for the candy floss while waiting for Daddy to find a parking lot. We bought a swivel chair for Alicia to use at her study table and a mini rocking chair for Brandon to use while watching TV. Also got a few frames to display our photos. Kids enjoyed the ending the most - hotdog bun, ice-cream n drinks @ $2.

And, today's dinner was a surprise - heeeee.... Small Yi offered to pay for dinner!! We had frog leg porridge n wu xiang. Da Yi paid half in the end. Thank you!!!

DIY Painting

Ouch... Yawn... Body's aching! I'm terribly tired!

The walls in my room n kids' room need repainting after the air-con was shifted. I've all along wanted to repaint the walls, especially the living n hallway. They're so dirty after kids kept banging their cars against them. Instead of spending $ engaging painters, I decided to DIY.

Sent the boys to 99's home this morning and went to buy the paints.

Started painting after lunch abt 12.30pm. The maid helped by putting masking tapes around corners n power points.

I started off painting the kids' room. Alicia saw me doing n happily offered to help out. After a few strokes, she complained that it's tiring! Yes indeed!!!

Then I proceeded to my room, the big wall in the living, the hallway and the dining. By the time I painted the 3rd wall, my hands n legs wee trembling! No joke!!

Luckily I had the maid to help with 2 walls... And of cos, the clearing up.

We finished painting about 5.30pm. I had paint all over my face, hands, hair n shirt. Scrubbed very hard when bathing to clean up those paint.

Then packed Mac dinner to 99's place. Had initially wanted to go Ikea but was too tired to go.

Still hv few other walls unpainted. They look even more dirty now with the repaired walls... Hmmmm... When do I hv the energy to paint them again?

Boxing Day

We woke up n washed up early today as the air-con man was supposed to come at 10am to shift an air-con and chemical wash another.

It wasn't diff for mummy to wake up early today as I had a bad nite. Din sleep till 3+am.

Anyway, the kids continued to unwrap more presents today. Aiyo... Headache cos the house seems so messy now. Worse, Brandon and Caden kept fighting over the toys. It's really Boxing Day for them!!

When it was near dinner time, Caden hit Brandon with the new gun and kicked him too. I punished him by making him face the wall for 15mins before he was allowed to eat. Sigh... Naughty children will always b difficult to handle. Luckily, Alicia was very well behaved today.

Better try to sleep early cos gonna b busy painting the house tmrw.

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas!! Ho Ho Ho!!!

Woke up late this morning as we all had a late nite. As promised, we made banana pancakes for breakfast.

This was followed by a rush to wash up to get ready for family lunch at Soup Restaurant at NEX. It was supposed to be a happy occasion but something unpleasant happened. I shall not go into details.

After a short walk at the pet shop, we went home. Kids waited for all to be present before giving out n receiving their Christmas gifts. It was unwrapping of presents one after another.

Xmas Eve Party

We were invited to 2 parties this evening. First, we went to Shermaine's house. They had BBQ n we jus ate. The kids liked the marshmallow, but din eat much of the rest of the food. They played more rather than eating.

Next, we went to Aunty Pat's house at Balestier. We were shocked to see so many people in the house! Caden was slightly overwhelmed n kept clinging onto me. We played games n ate some home cooked food. Before we left, we were asked to play more games. The kids were happy to win prizes.

By the time we reached home, it was past midnite. They slept soon after washing up. Merry Christmas!!!

Yummy Pancakes

Mummy me made pancakes for the kids on Xmas eve morning. Brandon helped with mixing n sieving the icing sugar.

Last Minute Shopping

Brought Caden to J8 this afternoon. We bought lotsa stuff - textbooks from Popular, Young Hearts bra for Alicia, quilt for Caden, towel, hair dryer and groceries from NTUC. Too bad din manage to get the salad for Cousin Val for her Xmas party. Most salads were sold out!!!

Already in the mood for Christmas.

Snorkelling

Finally, Brandon got to play his snorkelling toy set bought some time back. He pestered us to bring him to Da Yi's club. Although it was a bit too big for his mouth, he tried it on for a while and was more than happy.

Thank you Da Yi for fulfilling his wish!

冬至 Round 2

It's the actual day of 冬至 today. We did it at 99's house after lunch. Aiyo... My kids really love the ah balling balls! They had one big bowl each, jus after lunch!

It's 冬至 tomorrow. As we'll b at 99's place, mummy let the kids played with the dough today. We made the 汤圆 for Ah Ma to pray.

We invited the Pao Family to join us for dinner at Sushi Tei. Alicia and Amanda talked non-stop. Caden, as usual, was our ambassador n entertained Uncle Dacon thru the nite. They really enjoyed themselves! Good food & good company!!!
