Karaoke

Daddy brought us for a karaoke session on Saturday. The main purpose was just so that Caden could have a chance to use the microphone to try out his graduation speech.

It was our 1st official karaoke session as a family. The other time we tried it was on a cruise few years back.

It was a surprise when Brandon seemed very comfortable holding on to the mike, singing the few songs he dedicated. Alicia was very shy to hold on to the mike although she knew quite a few songs too. As for Caden, he kept snatching the mikes but din know the songs!

It was an enjoyable session! Daddy was very happy!

Treetop Loft Staycation

We booked a treetop loft stay at RWS Sentosa from 8-9 Sep 2014. Daddy took leave from work.

The place was great, except for mozzies. Luckily, we din get any kisses from them.

We started off with buffet lunch at the Starz Restaurant at Hard Rock Cafe, followed by a swim at Equarius Hotel's pool. Once we checked into the room, there was no need for us to get out from there!

Daddy's family joined us in the room in the evening. We called for in-room dining. The hotel surprised us with a cake as Daddy told them that Mummy is celebrating her birthday. The cake-cutting honour, however, was given to Ah Ma & Denise's granny, whose birthdays fall in Sep too.

The next day, we had breakfast at Forest Restaurant. We met up with the Pao Family who also booked a room at Equarius. They were very lucky to be given a free upgrade to the deluxe pool suite. We swam in their private pool too!!

It was a short stay, but a wonderful one for our family. M looking forward to yet another one!

Club Med Phuket

We went for our annual family holiday trip to Club Med Phuket fr 4-8 June. There was a scare as Caden had high fever the day before our trip. Luckily it subsided and he was fit to travel. We tried to avoid letting him play too much in the water.

Alas, it was Brandon who started hving fever, followed by diarrhoea a day before our return. Good thing Mummy went prepared with medication.

We all came home with souvenirs from the resort - mosquito bites! Caden was worst hit with a few bites on the forehead.

Overall, we had so much fun. It was great to be able to play a few sports & go thru a proper snorkelling lesson.

Tokyo Trip

Daddy approved Mummy's leave application fr 28 May - 1 June to go Tokyo for a shopping & eating trip with Small Yi & Val jie jie. Just nice, it coincides with the kids' e-learning days during the last 3 days of school.

Caden stayed over at 99's house on the weekdays. Daddy brought him home on Saturday & together with the other 2, went to watch a movie - Maleficent.

Chinese Orchestra

Alicia enthusiastically asked for 5 tickets from her teacher for a Yangzheng sponsored Singapore Chinese Orchestra concert for Saturday. The teacher even called a day before to ensure that we attend!

We had a yummy dinner at Ding Tai Fung at Raffles City to celebrate Mother's Day. Then, we headed to SCO Hall at the old Singapore Conference Hall for our 1st such concert.

I was initially afraid that the kids wld b making too much noise during the concert. Surprisingly, they behaved very well. Brandon, the hyper boy who can't concentrate for too long, sat through quietly n seemed to enjoy the concert.

Alicia was happy to see a few of her friends around.

Caden, the cheeky boy, kept giggling at the conductor cum Music Director. His smile & movements on the stage was indeed funny. We were locked out for 8 mins cos Caden needed to go for a toilet break.

The minus point abt the concert was that there was much applause after each performance. They even hv 2 encores! Brandon said towards the end,"I hv no energy to clap hands le...". Haaa!!!

The concert ended at 10.20pm. Find that it's a bit too long for the kids. By the time they went home in the car, they dozed off.

However, I'm glad we got to appreciate the music for the nite.

Exams Over!

Sort of... Friday was a play day for the kids, although Alicia still has one more paper on Monday.

Let them play with their electronic gadgets, toys n watch TV.

In the evening, we sent Xiao-gu & Er-gu off at the airport for their trip to Seoul. Daddy brought us to Mac for dessert before going home.

Birthday celebrations

Had a pre-birthday celebration dinner at Sushi Tei last nite with Daddy's family. Other than Brandon, it was also for Da Gu's upcoming birthday.

We then cut cake at home for Da Gu.

Today, it was supposed to be the day the kids get their birthday presents from Da Yi & Small Yi. They were hesitant - bicycle or toys. Mummy was also reluctant to hv 3 bicycles at home. Imagine hving to lug 3 bikes to Bishan Park?? 😰

They dilly-dally at Toys R Us and only Alicia managed to get something she wants. The boys? Next time lah...

We had home cooked pasta at 99's house, followed by cake cutting.

Dolphin Discovery

The kids were excited over our trip to Dolphin Island today. They woke up at 7am!

Caden was slightly below the min height of 115cm. We managed to convince the staff at the Guest Services Counter, who got approval from the Manager & Trainer. But, once we got to Dolphin Island, the staff there doubted us and asked for approval again. Once we got in there, there were doubtful eyes again! Phew!!! After 3 rounds, Caden managed to join us!

We were briefed by the staff on the Dos and Don'ts. We were also shown a 6-min video to let us know more about dolphins. After we got into our wetsuits, each group was assigned to a trainer & a dolphin. We were lucky to get 2 dolphins - Ruyi & Rocker.

The less than an hour of interaction with the dolphins was great! We were all given an opportunity to play & kiss & touch the dolphins. Alicia & Brandon were very brave and I could tell that they really enjoyed themselves. Caden was abit hesitant when he was 1st asked to touch the dolphin. After some warm up, he was ok.

Our interaction was photographed by their official photographer. I'm glad he managed to capture very special moments! It was worth spending $175 on those photos!
