Happy Children's Day
The kids got a day off from school on Children's Day. Daddy left the car for our use.
They requested to hv Swensen's for lunch. It was THEIR day, according to them. Daddy & Mummy had to listen to their "commands".
We also went to Bishan Park for cycling in the late afternoon. Had initially planned for desserts at Wimbly Lu but they were tempted by the MacDonald's at the park. Ended up hving dessert there.
Hope you had a wonderful day, my children. Stay happy & young always.
Funnily, Caden dropped his 3rd tooth while hving ice-cream. He was very happy as he'll get something from Tooth Fairy again.

Chinese Orchestra
Alicia enthusiastically asked for 5 tickets from her teacher for a Yangzheng sponsored Singapore Chinese Orchestra concert for Saturday. The teacher even called a day before to ensure that we attend!
We had a yummy dinner at Ding Tai Fung at Raffles City to celebrate Mother's Day. Then, we headed to SCO Hall at the old Singapore Conference Hall for our 1st such concert.
I was initially afraid that the kids wld b making too much noise during the concert. Surprisingly, they behaved very well. Brandon, the hyper boy who can't concentrate for too long, sat through quietly n seemed to enjoy the concert.
Alicia was happy to see a few of her friends around.
Caden, the cheeky boy, kept giggling at the conductor cum Music Director. His smile & movements on the stage was indeed funny. We were locked out for 8 mins cos Caden needed to go for a toilet break.
The minus point abt the concert was that there was much applause after each performance. They even hv 2 encores! Brandon said towards the end,"I hv no energy to clap hands le...". Haaa!!!
The concert ended at 10.20pm. Find that it's a bit too long for the kids. By the time they went home in the car, they dozed off.
However, I'm glad we got to appreciate the music for the nite.

My boy is 8 years old today!
He wanted a cake fr Icing Room so that he can decorate it on his own. Mummy bought fresh strawberries and washed them b4hand.
Caden tagged along and helped to decorate it too. Boys will be boys... Without Alicia around, they just can't do a pretty job! Well... at least it still looks good.
Happy Birthday, Brandon! May you grow strong & healthy & stay happy always. Daddy & Mummy love you!

Dolphin Discovery
The kids were excited over our trip to Dolphin Island today. They woke up at 7am!
Caden was slightly below the min height of 115cm. We managed to convince the staff at the Guest Services Counter, who got approval from the Manager & Trainer. But, once we got to Dolphin Island, the staff there doubted us and asked for approval again. Once we got in there, there were doubtful eyes again! Phew!!! After 3 rounds, Caden managed to join us!
We were briefed by the staff on the Dos and Don'ts. We were also shown a 6-min video to let us know more about dolphins. After we got into our wetsuits, each group was assigned to a trainer & a dolphin. We were lucky to get 2 dolphins - Ruyi & Rocker.
The less than an hour of interaction with the dolphins was great! We were all given an opportunity to play & kiss & touch the dolphins. Alicia & Brandon were very brave and I could tell that they really enjoyed themselves. Caden was abit hesitant when he was 1st asked to touch the dolphin. After some warm up, he was ok.
Our interaction was photographed by their official photographer. I'm glad he managed to capture very special moments! It was worth spending $175 on those photos!

Inter-Schools Scrabble Competition Finals
Alicia's team made it to the Scrabble competition grand finals. She had to report to school by 7.20am this morning. The competition was held at Downtown East D'Marqee till 5pm.
Daddy & Mummy sent Alicia to school together. Took a photo of her & Natasha, her partner in scrabble.
We brought the boys down at 3+ to give her our support. We waited anxiously together for the results. The P2 team did well & got runners' up. Although Alicia's team did not win, we were glad
1. Alicia did well by being selected for the competition.
2. Their team did well in the preliminary rounds to get a spot in the finals.
3. Alicia experienced butterflies in the stomach, realising the importance of a competition. (Jus like mummy!)
4. The team lost and the kids learnt that life is not smooth sailing. They hv to go through success and failures.
5. Alicia took responsibility by making an effort to learn n practice hard for the competition.
6. Alicia din take it too hard and accepted the loss gracefully.
Well done, Alicia!!! 我们永远支持你!
We went to T3 for dinner. Alicia agot to choose the venue as it was a celebration for her. We ate at Itacho Sushi. They also played at the long slide after redeeming the coupons. Although Daddy & Mummy were so full from the dinner, they still insisted on us getting them ice-cream! Bought a 2 scoop for them to share.
By the time we reached home, it was 9.20pm. Everyone's so tired, including Mummy. After washing up, they are all asleep now.

Pneumonia
Missing for almost 2 weeks... To think that I was happy when Caden started coughing after his fever. When the fever didn't subside on Friday, 14 Mar, I consulted Dr Leong over the phone. He advised that a chest x-ray and blood test should be done to further identify the problem. So, we headed to Mt Alvernia Hospital's A&E Dept.
After the chest x-ray and blood test, Caden was diagnosed with pneumonia. Oh my god!!! He had to be warded for further observation.
And there we were... for the next 9 days. He was finally discharged on Sunday, 23 Mar.
This brave little boy did not cry when he did the blood test. When Dr Ong inserted the cannula onto his left hand, he also didn't kick up any fuss. It was very funny as he told the doctor, "I won't cry, but you must promise me you'll only poke one time!" Haaa!!! Dr Ong replied, "Wah!! I'm so stressed now! I'm hving high blood pressure u know?" And luckily, he did it successfully.
His fever subsided after a few days and there was sign of recovery from the coughing. However, his oxygen saturation started dropping and had to be put on the oxygen mask, especially at nite.
He had visitors who brought him balloons and toys. He made all the visitors entertain him by playing board games. Even his principal and teacher visited him.
The stay was made easier with the Mickey decorated room. He imagined it to be a Disneyland staycation. The mini bath tub in the toilet also made him happy.
It was a blessing that the hospitalisation coincides with the March school holidays. But, to Alicia & Brandon, they were so bored at home. Mummy stayed in the hospital for the whole period and didn't hv time to bring them out to play.
He was discharged just in time for the school next week. However, he's gonna stay at home for another week to recuperate before I let him return to school.
The interim bill came up to be $13k+. Woah!!! Imagine how much I hv to fork out if he's not covered under insurance...
